We educate lawmakers and stakeholders about how government policies and regulatory issues impact cloud computing and the broader tech sector.

We passionately believe in equal rights for all and we have long supported policies that promote diversity and inclusion. As a company, we have taken a strong stand against recent discriminatory legislation in states like Indiana, Georgia and North Carolina. We also support equal rights issues such as marriage equality. In 2013, Salesforce joined an amicus brief filed in the U.S. Supreme Court that challenged the constitutionality of California’s Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage. We also joined an amicus brief filed in the U.S. Supreme Court that challenged the constitutionality of the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”).

In order to ensure that our workforce has the skills to compete in a global marketplace, we must improve our education system. We believe that public and private partnerships are critical to improving the quality and availability of education, especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM). We advocate for policies that encourage individuals, businesses and governments to shift toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.

We are committed to closing the gender wage gap and making equal pay a part of company’s DNA. In 2015, we assessed the salaries of global employees and spent nearly $3 million dollars to eliminate any statistically significant differences in pay. Salesforce plans to monitor and review salaries on an ongoing basis. To further publicly underscore our commitment to equal pay, we signed on to the White House “Equal Pay Pledge” in June 2016. In addition to analyzing salaries regularly, Salesforce will continue to focus on equal opportunity and equal advancement by increasing access to growth opportunities for all.
